Morning musings: So here I am at 430 am again. Wondering what (or who) it is that God has me awake for. I am sad to say that I am an amateur intercessor (as Oswald would say) with so much of my own life that probably needs constant prayer but it seems important that I still offer those few words to him for those who don't know to call on him themselves. I used to believe that my life had to be perfect, or at least appear that way, before I could offer intercessory prayer. What I have discovered is that offering intercessory prayers strengthens my own walk as I see other's lives transformed. When we have salvation, what more could we ever hope for in prayer for ourselves. What an awesome God we serve and Amen to moving mountains.

Yes. That's what it means. It was one of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's battle cries.

If we could relate to what Jesus had to do on the cross than it wasn't devine. He seperated himself from the humanity He loved so much so that He could take all our sins upon Himself in an act that only He could do. As much as we say we can understand what He did, we can not. Thus He strides ahead of us, determined to accomplish what He came to do. There was nothing that would get between Him and His purpose, even though Satan tried in the Garden of Gethsemene to avert Him from the mission at hand. Satan heard Him when He prayed, Father take this cup away. That was the flesh and soul of a man but then He moves to deity by saying, but not my will, Yours be done.

Wow... Ive never heard this before...
It is an enigma to me, though, because I thought that God was all for coming to our level to deal with us, not allow us to be separated and estranged from him; isnt that why he died on the cross in the first place?

I used to have trouble with a verse from Ecclesiastes, but I cant remember why. Maybe because it was so cliche: "There is a season for everything..." Perhaps my objection was, "Wait! No! Laughter should always be appropriate! When is it not the right time to be joyous or dance? And why should a time for mourning ever be right?" Maybe it just sounded like a discouraging cycle of ups and downs, I dont know. Anyway....
In this past month I have pondered its truth and vindication.
Time has tied us here. One has said that time is the element which keeps all things from happening at once. Thus, perhaps if it werent for time, joy would always be appropriate? Time is the most mysterious and mind-boggeling topic to discuss, like trying to understand existence.
But time is there, and time will decide what is best to do, when is best to speak. The words that caught my eye was "patience is required for grace and mercy to reach its full extent".
Then words elude me.
I need to think some more...

Non Cupedi Vindictae! I love that statement. Doesnt it mean, "My rights I give to God"?
